Ted Chiang (born 1967) is an American speculative fiction writer. His Chinese name is Chiang Feng-nan. He was born in Port Jefferson, New York and graduated from Brown University with a Computer Science degree. He currently works as a technical writer in the software industry and resides in Bellevue, near Seattle, Washington. He is a graduate of the noted Clarion Writers Workshop (1989).

@ chrissy 太精彩了TAT 可能是他完成度最高的作品之一 特德姜的作品和其他一切我阅读过的科幻作品都不同 很多的科幻作品读几句就能看出来作者的设定来源 譬如《北京折叠》的贫富差距《爱的算法》的人类思维和AI思维辩题等等 然而特德姜的科幻几乎都是架空的设定 我每次阅读的时候都会惊讶这么自成体系的世界观是怎么创作出来的(后来想到这篇文章的设定可能对应现实世界的“熵”)因此他的作品也会花大量笔墨在小说描绘的世界的详细介绍上 有时候确实如同另一个短评所说 是“堆砌设定,没有讲好故事”或许乍一看这个说法很适用于《呼吸》:它几乎没有任何情节 然而我并不认为这不是个好故事 尾声时那个原汁原味的宏观叙事的一瞥就已经够精彩了 还需要任何情节来兜售它吗?或者说 有任何情节可以装的下吗?结尾的苍凉氛围已经美得不像话了 @ 白衣卿相 当代最好的短篇科幻小说家,没有之一 @ su27根本就没有 巧妙的寓言! @ 时光的缝隙 不得不说这是篇硬科幻杰作。虽然对我来说有点太硬了,读来稍显沉闷。但结尾处的展开实在磅礴大气,很震撼。特德写短篇绝对是一等一的好手。 @ 肉夹馍多少钱 @ ,
