作者简介：

格洛丽亚•K. 费尔罗（Gloria K. Fiero）在纽约出生和长大，于加利福尼亚大学伯克利分校取得艺术史硕士学位，后于弗罗里达州立大学获得博士学位。费尔罗教授从事人文传统、世界历史和艺术史的教学已经超过三十年。

1996年，人文教育研究协会（Humanities Education and Research Association）正式设立了“格洛丽亚•费尔罗”人文传统讲座系列，用来纪念费尔罗教授在人文传统教学与研究领域的贡献。该项目每年举办学术讲座和演出，深受学生和学者欢迎。

@ 子衿 从16章开始，reading节选部分就没读了，赶进度hhhh，回头来补。看似大部分在讲艺术作品，可其实是用艺术来反映生活的。准备读第三本了，这三本书今年要刷三遍加深印象啊啊啊啊！很好的人文社科读物，我都已经忘记是在哪里知道这套书的了…… 总之看完一本就很感动，为其中的内容而感动，我又学到一点了更新： 这里面有一段对Wollstonecraft私生活的评价拉低了整本书的档次 谁说的女权主义者不能为爱死去活来

  • The east portal of the Florentine Baptistry contains Lorenzo Ghiberti’s immense (18 ft. 6 in. tall) gilt-bronze doors, brilliantly depicting in low relief ten episodes from the Old Testament. Ghiberti pictured himself in the roundel at the middle of the left door. Other figures depict his son, Vittorio, biblical prophets, and heroines. In 1990, the doors were removed for restoration. They now reside in the Museo del Duomo in Florence; copies have replaced the originals on the baptistry.In the domain of sculpture, the Early Renaissance master of pictorial illusionism was the Florentine goldsmith Lorenzo Ghiberti (1378–1455).   • A cursory examination of the plan of Versailles, laid out by the French architect Louis Le Vau (1612–1670), reveals esteem for the rules of symmetry, clarity, and geometric regularity(Figure 21.3).
