When the Cultural Revolution officially began, this uniformity seemed to extend to the mind. From the outside, China had become a monotonous world, a place of endless repetition and imitation, but a closer look reveals a range of cultural experiences, which also provided individuals with an obscure sense of freedom. @ Derridager 中文版禁标所以标记英文版。整体来说是很精彩的研究,从宣传树立“典范”与“社会模仿”切入文革研究,着重其社会机制与典范和复制品的其间张力。相比于论证的严密性,这本书给我的最大启发是,活用理论,搭建多维视角的框架,清晰凝练且优美的写作风格。第二章文革的文化经济、第5、6章讨论跨地方戏曲和革命芭蕾舞尤为精彩。彭一直是我很敬重的女性学者,特别注意到她避开简单化的女性主义去讨论人们欣赏、拥有芭蕾舞者的塑像,这种警惕避重就轻和丰富分析维度的研究风格,实属难得。读她写的鸣谢和结语都让人动容,有骨和肉的学术研究在当下太稀缺了。 @ 毗耶离 读的是港中文三十书系的中译本,但那个版本不能评论所以就在这里标记了。这本书的主要研究对象是萌革期间的文化生产与实践。在萌革期间,虽然知识分子等“文化人”群体遭到迫害,八部“样板戏”统治着舞台与银幕,但中国当时的文化领域绝非空无一物。在为郑智服务的文化产品的创造与“复制”中,群众仍然拥有某种意义上的“自由”。即便是官方为郑智宣传而创作的文艺作品,同样也有美学的考虑。例如即便在当前中国也是小众爱好的芭蕾舞,在萌革期间却成为八部样板戏中两部的表演形式,因此从后世看来,萌革反而成了中国芭蕾发展史上的高光时刻。萌革当然是不义的,而且一开始就注定失败的结局,因为既要求革命同时又完全驯服于权力的革命者从不存在,猫主义者的乌托邦也多出于后人的想象。但是以闭口不说的缄默把这段历史糊弄过去,同样并不明智。 @ 颤抖的企鹅 從這本、The Appearing Demos、再到據說明年要出來的One and All,麗君老師果然是很有作為cultural critics的責任和願景的,明顯想通過各種文化現象和伴隨分析的理論拼接來提供關於獨異性、多元和公共的新的辯證理解和理論想象。雖說我總覺得她最精彩的還是視覺文化那塊的分析,但作為小粉絲當然還是仰望以及期待…在逆境和焦躁中仍然有冷靜思考、做好手頭事的勇氣,這是一些香港學人、電影人、乃至香港人難能可貴的地方吧。 @ Turnsole 历史感、问题意识巨佳。一口气读完,上一本有同样阅读快感和欲望的是裴宜理的《安源》。
