作者简介：

英国新一代科幻作家的代表，毕业于剑桥大学，主修历史，之后周游世界，从事英语教学工作。2002年《副本》出版以后成为专职作家。

作为科幻作家，理查德·摩根对未来的看法十分悲观。这种观念也许来自他对历史的研究。在一次采访中，他明确表示：“人类社会现在是、过去是，将来也必然是以压迫、剥削大众为目的的存在。”

《副本》是他的科瓦奇系列的第一部。阴郁的色调、飞快的节奏，加上坚实的未来科技内核，让这部作品具有强烈的赛伯朋克风格；从结构布局上看，又与美国30 年代硬汉派侦探小说十分相似。文风极有硬汉派侦探小说大师雷蒙德·钱德勒的神韵–坚硬冷峻，时有隽语，显示出批判的锋芒。

@ connotation 头重脚轻，plot有点弱。英文版里的各种复杂专有名词太多了，读起来比一般文学性书籍累。场景人物的刻画非常细致，脑海里可以浮现出相应的样子，但是过细的描写冲淡了“推理”，对于观众来说，显得作者心有余而力不足了。不过这是作者的debute novel，而且写于 人类在技术上已经有可能达到“长生”。少数人可以活几百年甚至更久，多数人可以在肉体死掉之后再活个一两世，还有不少人沦为提供“副本”的工具。这样的技术会形成怎样的文化和社会形态？《副本》这本书认真细致全面地回答了上述问题，又是正宗的赛博朋克，因此给四星。扣一星是整体细节太多太满，什么都要有，暴力性交描写过头，甚至还有角斗场。侦探故事一般，是个幌子。以及大男主杰克苏，女人都喜欢他什么的，性爱场面略夸张可笑。Typical male fantasy. @ Atsu “Go to the next screen”，绝望，浪漫，令人向往。贯穿始终的疏离和迷幻感、意识的留存与下载、Meth与赤贫、精英和黑帮、闪回Harlan world的记忆无一不透露出令人悲观的未来色彩。关于意识和社会结构的新奇点子很多，由此产生了大量分支情节，并以很快的节奏展开和转折，以至Bancroft的主线到最后都显得失去了应有分量。无论怎样，“high tech，low life”的风味足够满分。 @ 依然依然me 断断续续一年终于看完了…好累…不过设定蛮有意思的
